*Before Nelson Mandela left prison he said “As I stand before the door to my freedom, I realise that if I do not leave my pain, anger and bitterness behind me, I will still be in prison”.*
Mistakes in life are also imprisonment. Yet sometimes, we refuse to come out. We prefer self-imposed imprisonment.
We hold grudges, become bitter and do not cooperate. We feel comfortable inside the walls of anger and resentment.
Forgiveness comes as bail. It should be accepted with a big smile of relief. What needs to be done is a fight with all our fears and failures. After all, mistakes were meant to make us a survivor… Not a victim!!
A survivor who has learned how to be humble yet strong, wise and mature.
